Element finishing putty is a ready-to-use paste putty. It is ideal for leveling, repairing defects and finishing surfaces made of concrete, aerated concrete, brick, ceramic blocks, gypsum, lime and cement plasters, as well as for puttying surfaces of GCP, DSP, chipboard, fiberboard, OSB, fiberglass and non-woven fabric. It has a particularly elastic thixotropic consistency. After drying, the surface must be painted with appropriate paint.
Technical characteristics
Technical characteristics and quality indicators of the putty “Element finishing putty” meet the requirements of DSTU B V.2.7-233:2010 Liquid construction mixtures modified from the BD group. Can be used as a leveling mixture in multi-layer systems for covering surfaces in dry rooms.
Temperature: +20±2°С and relative humidity 60±5%. Under other conditions, these characteristics may vary.
Preparing the base:
- Clean, dry, smooth surface.
- The surface must be capable of bearing the load and suitable for preparation in accordance with the above requirements.
- The surface is cleaned of substances that negatively affect adhesion.
- Highly absorbent surfaces must be primed with deep penetration primer, for example, “ELEMENT GRUND” or “Soil concentrate 1:4 ELEMENT.”
- To prevent infection or if there is existing contamination of the substrate with mold, mildew, algae or fungi, antiseptic primer "ELEMENT GRUND ANTISEPTIK" should be used.
Material preparation
Element finishing putty is a ready-to-use dispersion putty. The contents of the package must be thoroughly mixed using a mixer at low speed. If necessary, to adjust the consistency, the putty can be diluted with water, but not more than 2% by weight. When using mechanized application, you should follow the operating instructions for the equipment.
It is important to take into account the exact amount of water indicated on the package to adjust the consistency.
Execution of work
Apply in an even layer using a stainless steel spatula or a machine for spraying fine-grained putty, evenly spread over the surface with a layer of the required thickness. In cases of use as a repair compound, when unevenness or chips are more than 3 mm deep, it is recommended to apply the material in several layers, allowing the previous layer to dry completely.
Conditions of use
During application and during the drying process, the temperature of the surrounding air and the base should not fall below + 5°C and rise above +30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog, high humidity, or when frost is expected in the next 24 hours.
Store tightly closed container in a cool place, away from freezing and away from direct sunlight.
